The video is finally here. Ryan swimming. This has been a huge surprise for us. Ryan has been following James' footsteps in everything...talking, playing, etc. However, when it comes to swimming, he is a born natural. I'm not sure how or where he learned to do it, but it appears as though swimming is as natural to him as walking. I might be making a big deal of this, but I'm very impressed with him. With his fearless nature, he has figured out how to swim. In fact, he is making improvement without us giving him instruction.
He has figured out how to put his head down and kick. He knows how to jump off the edge, the first thing he did. He knows how to swim to the edge of the pool (we helped with this). He knows how to stop moving and wait when he needs to take a breath.
He does get so excited that he swallows a bunch of air and pool water, so diapers are a bit messy after swimming. He also gets a ton of gas, which is fun also :)
So, I am a proud mommy.

I was pretty impressed with Ana and Emma beginning to swim this summer after many lessons and $$$, but to watch Ryan... Well, maybe I'll show them the video and that will motivate them to jump off the sides...
yea, apparently Grandpa Stevens (Betsy's Dad) was a swimmer in the military. His job was to swim down under to opposing ships and attach the rope to their boat. Something like that. But it's unreal.
I always thought that Ryan looked abit like Michael Phelps but with red hair... It must be great fun watching his growing strokes. Keep the pictures going!! THERE'RE GREAT!
