Just a few more

Fun times with dad. Ryan also gets mad when I don't give him the camera.

This is how we do it....

In order to get full benefit from a push-up, we've discovered that you have to have at least 2 little people on top of you. So, this is how daddy does push-ups.

Things I Love...

I love how little kids sleep. James was a corner sleeper with arms tucked up underneath. A lot of times he was hugging the mattress. Now he sleeps completely under his quilt and blanket. My sister used to sleep like that. I have to have my head out of the covers.

Ryan has never been one to sleep under the blankets. So, he usually sleeps like this or has his rear end sticking straight up with arms tucked underneath. Anyways, it's just too cute to see his little feet sticking out.

This is me

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and going in to the hospital on May 4th. I'm excited to meet this little one but also very nervous about having 3 under 4. But, survival mode will kick in along with many sleepless nights. There's nothing much to report in regards to this pregnancy. I haven't gained as much weight as I did with the boys. I think I'm up 15 or so pounds. She is sitting low so that has had a bearing on my clothes. I'm at that point where nothing I wear looks

terribly great.

It's funny though. When you're pregnant with your first, strangers have a TON of advice. With the 2nd one, people make comments like "Your hands will be full" and "Wow, 18 months apart (with a look of disapproval)". Now I just get a smile and congrats. I guess they figure after 2 that are close together, we know what we're in for :) But, do we ever REALLY know? I don't think so. But what a blessing she'll be to our family.

Grandpa's Truck

This post is inspired by my sister's many stories of kids saying funny things. James is in speech therapy and doing well. I think he's gotten a bit lazy and doesn't want to try very hard. Ryan, on the other hand, will say whatever you want him to, especially if there's a treat involved. So, I'm sure James says funny things, but I just don't understand it all.

When we were visiting my parents in Texas last fall, my dad and myself and James were riding home from Cooper's BBQ and James kept inquiring as to where Ryan was. My dad has a truck with a flat-bed, but I'm not sure the make. It has the bench seat up front and a bench seat right behind. Not much room, but enough to squeeze some more people in. So, I asked where Ryan was going to sit and James pointed to the spot right next to him. Then he said Daddy could sit back there too. Then we asked where Grandma would sit and he said "in the back, with the dogs". Anyways, it made me smile.

A Day with No Kids

Well, My in-law's, Kevin and Betsy, very graciously volunteered to watch our boys overnight on friday and during the day saturday. I set this up with Betsy a month or so ago and have been looking forward to it. But sometimes the anticipation sets me up for disappointment. I didn't have any set plans and wanted it that way. Just knowing we could wake up Saturday morning when we wanted ( kind of) and not have yelling kids, that would be a big enough treat.

I had hopes of cooking a nice seafood dinner, but at 6:00 I didn't have the energy. Alex had to unexpectedly work late so he didn't get home till 7 or so. Like I said, my expectations were set up even though nothing was officially planned and finding out Alex wouldn't be home till after 7 was a little more than I could handle. Sometimes when I'm pregnant, I get a "bit" emotional. So, I had a rough emotional evening even though things were fine. We went to eat near the outlets but then I was tired from the week and day, that we just went home to watch some DVR recordings.

Saturday morning was nice. We didn't sleep in because we're programmed to wake up, but we were able to just lay there and even turn on the TV. I got hungry and wanted to eat at our favorite little cafe, The Sweetwater Cafe. I got frosted flake crusted french toast and alex got a great grilled blueberry muffin and omelet w/ grits. The grits were just okay, but everything else was great.

We went looking at some bar stools, went to Lowe's where they were having a 1/2 off sidewalk sale, went to Sam's to eat some of Alex's favorite 3-meat pizza and then it was 1 pm. So, we decided to see Slumdog Millionaire. I don't know the last time Alex and I ever went to a movie during the day, but it was nice to just have the time to do whatever. Make a plan on the spur of the moment.

Anyways, it is a movie worth seeing. We picked up the boys and headed back home to deal with the time change.

The Camera

I did finally get a new battery for my camera. Now I just have to find the cord so I can post some pics. To be coming.
